Get Out! National Night Out August 1
Monroe Township will celebrate "National Night Out", Tuesday, August 1, 2006, Thompson Park, 7 pm to 10 pm. (rain location: Monroe Township Recreation Center.)
Sponsored by The Monroe Township Police Department and Emergency Services, all are invited for a crime-free night of fun, games, prizes and free food. Children should bring their bikes and helmets for the Bike Rodeo.

Fireworks Display a Blast
Monroe Township and Jamesburg residents celebrated July 4th with a fireworks display at Monroe's Thompson Park. The fifth annual event, which included games, rides and food, was sponsored by Monroe Township. Almost 10,000 people attended the festivities.

Get Stripping at "Gypsy" Auditions
The Mighty Oak Players Theatre Group will present the musical "Gypsy" and is looking for talented performers.
Auditions are Monday, July 10th, Tuesday July 11th, both 7 pm - 9pm. Callbacks are Wednesday, July 12th, at 7 pm. Auditions and callbacks will be held at The Richard P. Marasco Center for the Performing Arts (located at Monroe Township High School), 1629 Perrineville Road, Monroe Township, NJ.
All roles are available including children and teens 8 to 18 years old.
Performers should be prepared to sing 16 bars of a song of their choice, and should bring their own sheet music, as a piano accompanist will be provided. Performers should also wear comfortable shoes as they may be asked to dance.
The show's Director is Jeff Babey and Musical Director is Jennifer Alagna, who both worked on past Mighty Oaks productions of "Guys and Dolls" and "Rogers and Hart: A Celebration."
"Gypsy" is the backstage story of stripper Gypsy Rose Lee and is one of the classic America musicals. "Gypsy" show dates are Friday, August 25 through Sunday August 27th, 2006.
